If it is so Simple…Why is it so Hard?

This was my expression the day I entered affiliate marketing and has yet to leave my face…lol.

Hello everybody and welcome yet again to another blog from Online Marketing 4 Life. Before I begin, I have to say that there is a change in the air. I’m speaking more literal than figurative. Temperatures were below 30 degrees Fahrenheit yesterday morning and it was snowing the day before. It looks like winter is getting a head start. Although who knows because temps are suppose to jump back up toward the end of next week.

Okay now that you received the weather report for the northeastern U.S. let’s get down to some business. The more I get comfortable with my online business it seems that there is always something to make me uncomfortable. Unfortunately, that is the way of life for every business under the sun whether online or offline. We as marketers as well as entrepreneurs need to roll with the flow and find innovative ways to stand apart from the ordinary.

In my affiliate marketing business, I have corresponded with hundreds of people if not thousands in my career which is just under a year. I have learned so much in just those interactions alone. I’ve met some real talented folks as well as some folks that have a plethora of knowledge. I have been able to use the information I received to my advantage for sure. Next to formal educational training, networking has been right up there with providing my necessary education.

Let’s take a look at today’s title and see what I mean by it. This industry is a very simple process. There are components and actions needed to be done. If you do them consistently for a length of time you will see success. Why then are so many people not seeing success. The quick and easy answer is that many people (including myself) enter this business with the wrong mindset. Many folks want to get rich quick. They’re willing to get down and dirty for a period of time and then they get discouraged and give up.

Several folks when starting an online business have no idea where to start. So they look and see what is producing the most money online. Eventually, folks start chasing the “shiny objects” of the latest and greatest and never get any traction with one program or course. The problem is they’re too busy chasing money. Instead, they should be chasing their passions. Simply put, find your interests, something you have knowledge in and marry that with your offer or niche. This will help you stay in the game and do what it takes to be successful.

Many online marketers don’t know what they need for tools and software which really makes this industry hard to succeed. Generally, if you join a reputable program that provides your interests, you will learn from the educational training platform. In doing so, you will understand the tools you need. Simply put a funnel builder, autoresponder and link tracking software is needed to accomplish the very basics. Once you begin using them, you will become comfortable as well as knowledgeable on the workings similar to the use of social media.

A question I receive a lot is, “When can I expect to get paid?”. The answer to that varies depending on one big variable which is VALUE. You see we’re not paid for our time but for the value we bring to the marketplace. Some of you will pick up on the Jim Rohn tone here. In order to get paid, we need to provide value to our marketplace. It is not our perceived value but the value that is perceived from those looking to buy your offer. Therefore, make sure you’re promoting to the correct audience as well as meeting their expectations of perceived value. Also, a point worth noting is always over-deliver when promoting your offer which you hear Russel Brunson of ClickFunnels say often.

One of the most common questions from online marketers, is that regarding traffic. How do I get it? How do I quantify and qualify it? How does it work? These are the common questions when it comes to your audience. You can pay for traffic with ads which will save you time but cost you money. The other way is to get it for free which will save you money but cost you time. A good way to start is with free or the organic method. Simply put, one would go into social media like Facebook and search for their niche in Facebook Groups. Upon doing so, they would select a group and search members to engage with. I usually send a candid message requesting their friendship.

Finally, if you use the methods that I noted above, you will definitely see results sooner than later. The big piece of advice is to stay consistent and remain steadfast. Make sure you have a set schedule and stick to it…like glue. It is also better to have a schedule that you can adhere to then setting a schedule that is too difficult to meet your obligations. You don’t want to set yourself up for failure. Also remember to schedule time for continued educational training as well as implementation. You need both to succeed.

Well I hope you received some value from this blogpost that will help turn your efforts into cash. If not, I will pay you for the time it took you to read this message…lol. In all seriousness please apply what you learn and document your progress. This journey is a lifetime so enjoy the process as best you can. Life is full of little successes along the way and they compound just like interest in an investment account. Feel free to message me with any questions or help looking for some information. I’m happy to help and in the meantime be well and stay well.
